Image:ResourcesIcon.png The resource view shows a spreadsheet containing the resources that are available for your project.

  • Resource rows with green backgrounds are assigned to the current project.
  • People resources should have type "Work". Machines and materials should have type "Material". The difference is that work resources participate in hours, and material resources participate in quantity. For example, you can have a task requiring one builder for a week that also requires 20 bags of the material resource "cement".

[edit] Resource Breakdown Structure (RBS)

You can create or modify a RBS Chart by using the Hierarchy tools

The resources are automatically shared by all of the projects in your company. Users of Projects On Demand will always be present, along with any additional resources you choose to add.

The resource view is only modifiable when working on the "Master Project (Resource Pool)". This special project is only available to POD Administrators. They can either open the project up explicitly, or choose the "Manage Resource Pool" option in the Welcome dialog. It's best to work on the resource pool without other projects open, and close it before opening or creating projects. See Managing your resource pool for more information.
