[edit] How to highlight a specific resource's multiple tasks in GANTT

In Open Project, in a larger project with many resources, and with some resources performing multiple tasks, how to change the colors or hatching or other visual aspect of the graph bars representing a particular named resource, so that they can easily be visually picked out of the clutter to see where tasks overlap/conflict? Imported .mpp shows all tasks by all resources as the same blue. "Documentation" says blue for normal,[1] red for critical. Is no other visual highlighting possible?

Imagine that a resource might be scheduled for multiple tasks throughout a big project. How to view the timelines and see only the bars for that resource, or how to change the bars for only that resource so that they can be visually identified from all the hundred other resources? MS-Project allows designating resources by color (in the bars/graph, not just the text columns) like green for technical writer, yellow for engineering tester, pink for Marketing, etc. Extremely useful for visually oriented people viewing big projects.[2]

==How to fomat dates?== In Open Project I have been unable to change the Time Scale.

Open Project defaults to Week by Day for the Time Format

Are Options for other Major Time Frames (ie: Year, Month) and Minor Time Frames (ie: Week / Day) available?

For Projects that span several months (or longer) it is preferable to show the Time Format as Month by Week or Quarter by Month for both viewing and printing purposes

To change timeline you can use View,[3] zoom in or zoom out. Seems to have a limited number of options.

[edit] Problem Inserting sub-project

As a new User of OpenProj - I find no option for inserting a sub-project under the insert menu as suggested by the user manual - could it be a setting prohibiting the multi project feature either in the project file or in the application installation?

[edit] Reorder tasks

Is there a simple way to reorder tasks?

Recurring tasks? = =

How can I show recurring tasks (e.g., quarterly progress reports)[4]on a single task line?

[edit] Predecessors and Successors

How do you add Predecessors and Successors? I thought that this means what tasks are required first and what tasks need to be done next.

I have an example on how to do this; I just need to know how to add the images[5] that I uploaded.
